Doosan Enerbility has been awarded a $683 million contract to build a power plant in Oman

South Korea’s Doosan Enerbility has been awarded a contract worth 930 billion won, or $683 million, to build the Misfah combined-cycle power plant in Oman. According to the Korea Herald, the project is scheduled for completion in April 2029.

The company will handle engineering, procurement, and construction as part of a consortium with SEPCO-3, a power plant construction firm. The project’s clients are international developers, including Qatar’s Nebras Power, Etihad Water and Electricity from the United Arab Emirates, and Oman’s Bahwan Infrastructure Services.

Doosan Enerbility stated that its experience in implementing projects in the Middle East helped the company secure this contract. According to the company, the Misfah power plant is intended to help meet Oman’s demand for electricity and stabilize the country’s energy supply.

Doosan Enerbility is also expanding its activities in the construction of combined-cycle gas power plants through projects in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam.
