Lithuania has provided Ukraine with more than 17 metric tons of power generation equipment
On September 11, Lithuania delivered more than 17 metric tons of power equipment to Ukrainian regions. The aid was intended to support the power grid amid Russian attacks.
As part of this aid, Lithuania provided Ukrainian critical infrastructure enterprises with 17.67 metric tons of power equipment, including transformers, electric motors, diesel and gasoline generators, and insulators.
“This equipment will help replace components damaged by Russian attacks, provide backup power, and speed up repair work,” according to a statement from Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy. It is noted that the equipment was delivered to Kyiv, as well as to the Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv regions.
Earlier, three regions received energy aid from Germany.
Kyiv has begun stockpiling food and drinking water in preparation for prolonged power outages and other emergencies. The city aims to prepare reserves in advance that can be used at resilience centers and to assist people in the event of large-scale disruptions.
