Olmeca refinery in Mexico sets fuel production record in July — Mexico News Daily
The Olmeca oil refinery in the port of Dos Bocas, Tabasco state, Mexico, achieved its highest monthly fuel production figure ever in July. The facility produced an average of 252,498 barrels of fuel per day, according to data from the state-owned company Pemex, as reported by Mexico News Daily.
This volume includes, among other products, premium and regular gasoline, as well as diesel fuel. The July figure was 78.8% higher than in June and 62.4% above the result for the same period a year earlier.
Growth in gasoline output
Production of regular and premium gasoline at Olmeca increased by 127.9% in July compared with the previous month and by 89.5% year-on-year. The average daily output of these products was 108,548 barrels.

The increase in production came after the restoration and modernization of the refinery's equipment between April and June. Fires were recorded this year at the US$21 billion facility, including in March, April and July.
Heavy oil refining
In July, Olmeca processed slightly less than 229,000 barrels of Maya heavy crude oil per day. This was 62.2% more than in June and 53.9% more than a year earlier. The refinery showed a higher processing volume only in December last year; before July, its figures had declined for six consecutive months.
Olmeca processes only Maya heavy crude oil. By processing volume in July, the refinery ranked second among Pemex's seven refineries in Mexico after Salina Cruz, where an average of 246,838 barrels of oil per day were processed. Olmeca's July result corresponded to 67.3% of its design capacity of 340,000 barrels per day.
