Russian strikes left consumers in five regions of Ukraine without power
As of the morning of August 12, power outages affecting consumers in five regions of Ukraine have been reported due to new Russian attacks. This was reported by Ukrenergo.
NPC “Ukrenergo” reported this on Facebook.
“As a result of Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling of frontline regions, as of this morning there are new power outages in the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions. Where safety conditions permit, emergency repair work is underway,” the statement reads.
It is noted that electricity consumption is trending downward. Today, August 12, as of 9:30 a.m., it was 3.3% lower than at the same time the previous day—Tuesday. The reason is a drop in temperatures in most regions of Ukraine. This reduces the need for widespread use of air conditioners by consumers.
Yesterday, August 11, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 2.5% higher than the peak of the previous day—Monday, August 10. The reason is a significant rise in air temperature in most regions.
Ukrenergo also emphasized that active electricity consumption today should be shifted to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently—from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.— and urged the public to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances in the evening—from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In the Odesa region, there remains a need for energy conservation around the clock.

In the Mykolaiv region, two people were injured over the past 24 hours as a result of attacks by Russian drones.
In the Poltava region, a fire broke out at an industrial facility as a result of Russian shelling.
In addition, since the evening of August 11, Russian troops have attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 20 times with drones and missiles. A 57-year-old man was injured as a result of the strikes.
On the night of August 12, Russian occupation forces struck Zaporizhzhia. The attack damaged one of the “Epicenter” chain’s stores.
