Vakarchuk spoke at the destroyed thermal power plant and called on the world to help the energy sector
Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, frontman of the band Okean Elzy, performed at a destroyed thermal power plant and called on the international community to support the restoration of Ukraine’s power grid.
This was reported by DTEK.
The musician met with energy workers who are operating under constant shelling and thanked them for their work.
“They are constantly destroying our energy facilities. That is why your support is so important… please continue to help us, because this saves the lives of Ukrainians,” Vakarchuk said.
He also emphasized the role of energy workers: “They are true heroes. Risking their lives under constant shelling, they do everything possible to ensure our homes have light and heat.”
Vakarchuk performed a concert for the station’s employees to support them in their difficult working conditions.
As a reminder, on the night of April 13, 2026, Russian occupation forces carried out a targeted attack on the energy infrastructure of the Chernihiv region.
The Sumy region once again came under attack by Russian occupiers, who used unmanned aerial vehicles to strike civilian infrastructure.
