The FDA has approved Zenbexus for the treatment of multiple myeloma
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Bristol Myers Squibb’s oral drug Zenbexus for the treatment of patients with advanced multiple myeloma, according to STAT News.
The drug’s active ingredient is iberdomide, which will be marketed under the brand name Zenbexus. It will be used in combination with Darzalex and dexamethasone for patients with multiple myeloma who have already undergone at least one prior line of therapy.

The approval marks the emergence of a new class of drugs for treating this blood cancer. Zenbexus also became the first drug approved by U.S. regulators using a more sensitive measure of cancer remission.
Bristol Myers Squibb’s Chief Medical Officer, Christian Massacessi, told STAT News prior to the approval announcement that the decision regarding Zenbexus opens up opportunities for developing new potential combinations in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
