Riyadh summit presents more than 40 initiatives worth 5 billion riyals — Asharq Al-Awsat
The fourth Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit 2026 has concluded in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During the event, more than 40 agreements, initiatives and announcements were presented as part of partnerships, programs and projects. Their combined estimated value exceeded 5 billion Saudi riyals.
As Asharq Al-Awsat reports, citing the Saudi Press Agency, the initiatives are intended to promote the localization of biotechnology and strengthen its impact on the country’s healthcare system and economy.
Participants and program
The summit brought together delegations and experts from more than 57 countries, as well as more than 200 speakers. The total number of visitors and registered participants exceeded 15,000.

The program included more than 80 sessions, as well as seven sessions for senior executives. They discussed artificial intelligence, genomics, vaccines, biomanufacturing, advanced therapies, investment and specialist development. The Next Generation Biotechnologist Forum was dedicated to supporting researchers and scientists at early stages of their careers.
Investment intentions
The Life Sciences Innovation Forum attracted five specialized investment funds. They stated their readiness to invest more than $120 million in promising opportunities and companies.
The summit’s exhibition area covered more than 6,000 square meters. More than 120 sponsors and exhibitors took part, including international pavilions from Spain, China, Japan, Germany, the United States and the Republic of Korea.
