DBS in Singapore resumes Saturday cashback of up to S$3 via PayLah!

From August 29 to December 19, Singaporean bank DBS will provide PayLah! app users with cashback of up to S$3 every Saturday. The offer will apply at participating neighborhood shops, markets, coffee shops and street food outlets. This was reported by Channel NewsAsia.

Limit for customers

Cashback will be available to the first 160,000 customers every Saturday. The campaign will run for 17 Saturdays and will be held for the fourth time. Compared with the previous year, it has been extended by five weeks.

A total of 2.7 million cashback rewards will be available, around 40% more than last year, DBS said. The maximum value of one reward is S$3, or US$2.36.

Cost-of-living support program

The initiative is part of the Saturday Savings program, which is included in DBS's previously announced S$10 million support package. According to the bank, the package is intended to help Singapore residents cope with pressure from rising costs.

In July, as part of Saturday Savings, DBS began offering S$3 discounts on eggs and S$3 discounts on rice every Saturday at Sheng Siong and Giant supermarkets. This part of the program will run until August 29. Kelvin Ong, head of Consumer Banking Group DBS Singapore, said the program is also intended to encourage more people to support local businesses in residential neighborhoods.
