Getmantsev commented on the impact of the new 2,000-hryvnia banknote on inflation
Danylo Getmantsev, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, stated that the introduction of a 2,000-hryvnia banknote does not in itself create conditions for accelerating inflation.
According to him, Ukraine is maintaining macrofinancial stability despite the full-scale war. He noted that gold and foreign exchange reserves remain high, the banking system is stable, and the debt burden is moderate.
At the same time, Getmantsev acknowledged that the introduction of higher-denomination banknotes could influence inflation expectations among businesses and the public. That is why, he said, the National Bank had to take such risks into account when making its decision.
Earlier, it was reported that the new 2,000-hryvnia banknote is planned to feature the Ukrainian poet Vasyl Stus.

The National Bank of Ukraine is preparing to put a new high-denomination banknote—2,000 hryvnias—into circulation. It will be available to the public starting September 4, 2026.
Banknotes issued by the Bank of England may in the future feature images of wild animals instead of historical figures. Currently, British banknotes feature well-known figures, including Winston Churchill. However, the new design may incorporate illustrations of wildlife—such as beavers and other animals.
