A forecast for magnetic storms on June 25–26 has been released
According to experts’ forecasts, no significant magnetic storms are expected on June 25–26—the geomagnetic situation will remain mostly calm. At the same time, experts remind us that even minor fluctuations in solar activity can affect the well-being of people who are sensitive to weather changes.
Geomagnetic activity is measured on a scale from 0 to 9. The planetary K-index is used to indicate this; a reading of 5 or higher indicates a strong magnetic storm.
On Thursday, June 25, solar activity with a K-index of 4 (yellow level) is expected, which corresponds to moderate magnetic storms.
On Friday, June 26, solar activity with a K-index of 3.3 (green level) is expected, which corresponds to weak magnetic storms.
It is important to note that magnetic storm forecasts are subject to change, as solar activity researchers update their data every three hours.
