Taylor Fresh Foods is recalling jalapeño products due to a risk of salmonella
Taylor Fresh Foods, the parent company of Taylor Farms, is voluntarily recalling some ready-to-eat products containing jalapeño peppers due to possible salmonella contamination. Fortune reports this, citing the Associated Press.
The company began removing the products from stores after its supplier, Coast Citrus Distributors, voluntarily recalled fresh jalapeños due to potential contamination. The recall specifically includes guacamole, pico de gallo, and taco dip.
The products were distributed across several U.S. states. They are labeled “Best If Used By” with a date through August 16, 2026. The products were sold at Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart.

According to a statement from Taylor Fresh Foods, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with state and local partners, are investigating cases of illness in a multistate outbreak linked to fresh jalapeños from Coast Citrus Distributors. The company reported that a producer in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, which supplied products to Coast Citrus Distributors, has been identified as the potential source of the outbreak.
Taylor Fresh Foods stated that it is no longer purchasing products from this producer and will fulfill orders through alternative suppliers. At this time, the company is not aware of any reported cases of illness specifically linked to its jalapeño-containing products. Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled products, to discard them immediately, and to contact the place of purchase for a refund.
A few weeks earlier, Taylor Farms also voluntarily recalled iceberg lettuce from central Mexico due to a possible link to a multi-state outbreak of cyclosporiasis in the United States.
