Singapore to host Southeast Asia’s first Evo event in 2027 — Channel NewsAsia
Singapore will host an Evolution Championship Series (Evo) event for the first time in Southeast Asia. Evo Singapore 2027 will take place on January 15–17 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, and both professional and amateur players will be able to participate in the fighting game tournaments, Channel NewsAsia reports.
Tournaments and prize pools
The Evo Singapore 2027 program will include five disciplines: Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Guilty Gear Strive, and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. The guaranteed combined prize pool for these tournaments will total $125,000.
Evo competitions have an open format: players can register to participate regardless of their professional status. The Tekken World Tour 2026 Global Finals will also be held as part of the event. The best Tekken 8 players will compete there for a separate $300,000 prize pool.
Before the finals, a Last Chance Qualifier will be held for participants who have not yet qualified. Its winner will advance directly to the Global Finals. This will be the first time a Tekken World Tour season concludes at an official Evo event.

Arcades, cosplay and broadcasts
In addition to tournament brackets, organizers plan an arcade zone with dozens of gaming machines, opportunities for casual play, and community-organized Bring Your Own Console tournaments, for which participants will bring their own consoles. The event will also feature an Evo museum about the history of the fighting game fan community, merchandise areas and vendor booths, cosplay activities, and booths from game publishers and developers.
Matches will be broadcast online on Evo’s Twitch and YouTube channels. Tickets for the event are already available through Trip.com; one-day spectator passes start at S$25. Tournament participants must purchase a three-day pass and separately register for their chosen disciplines through Start.gg.
The Evo series was founded on the basis of a fighting game tournament in California in 1996 that brought together 40 players. Since then, competitions have been held, among other places, in Las Vegas, Japan, and France.
