Deutsche Bank will provide a loan for new power plants for Ukrnafta
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the terms for securing a loan from Deutsche Bank AG in the amount of up to 45.75 million euros for the purchase of equipment and the installation of gas-piston power plants. The government adopted the corresponding resolution on September 28.
The new generating capacity, with a total electrical output of approximately 60 MW, is planned to be deployed at four sites operated by JSC “Ukrnafta.” The funds raised will cover up to 85% of the cost of contracts for the purchase and delivery of the necessary equipment.
Ukraine’s obligations under this loan will be secured by a guarantee from the Finnish export credit agency Finnvera. Interest on the loan, in accordance with the relevant intergovernmental agreement, will be paid by Finland, except in specific cases provided for in the terms of the agreement. A grace period has also been established for the loan, and the government must repay the funds in full after 9.5 years.
