Epson opens regional headquarters in Riyadh
Japanese technology company Epson has opened a regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Middle East and North Africa countries. The new office is intended to strengthen the company’s presence in the kingdom, where Epson has operated for more than 15 years, as well as coordination of its activities in the region, Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
The company focuses on solutions for education, healthcare and the entertainment industry. The headquarters is also expected to strengthen ties between Epson’s regional divisions and research and development centers in Japan, particularly for creating solutions in innovation, sustainability and digital transformation.
Development in the Saudi market
Hussam Al-Zughayyar, head of regional sales at Epson Middle East, said that choosing Riyadh for the headquarters is part of the strategy to expand the business in Saudi Arabia. According to him, the company plans to improve service levels, develop ties with the local distribution network and expand its work in the education sector.

Through the Riyadh office, Epson plans to establish more direct interaction with research centers and data processing centers in Japan. This is expected to make it possible to take the needs of the local market into account when developing next-generation technologies.
Cooperation in education and investments
Al-Zughayyar noted that Epson has long cooperated with Saudi Arabia’s education sector, including with Tatweer Educational Technologies Company, which is a strategic technology division of the Ministry of Education. The company will supply interactive displays for schools and universities to support the development of smart classrooms and interactive learning.
In 2022, Epson launched a graduate program that provides practical experience and develops the professional skills of young specialists. Three of its participants later joined the company’s staff. In 2022–2024, Epson increased investments in regional facilities by 28.6% and in personnel by 45%.
