Kernel will collaborate with NASA Harvest to develop an environmental monitoring system
The Ukrainian agricultural holding Kernel has joined the international NASA Harvest project to develop a system for monitoring agricultural production.
This was reported by the company’s press service.
As part of the collaboration, a remote system for analyzing agricultural practices is being created based on satellite data and machine learning algorithms.
The system will enable the identification of crop types, assessment of crop patterns, and verification of soil cultivation methods.
Kernel will provide data to improve analytical models, which will help increase the accuracy of assessing the sustainability of agricultural production.
The company notes that this will facilitate the adaptation of the Ukrainian agricultural sector to EU requirements and the development of financing instruments.
The project is being implemented with the participation of the EBRD and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
The Kernel agricultural holding successfully carried out its first direct maritime import of petroleum products for its own needs.
