Favbet has failed to pay its developer more than $8,000 in wages

Favbet has failed to pay its developer more than $8,000 in wages

A scandal has erupted online surrounding Favbet, which has been accused of failing to pay its employees

Vladislav, a former senior AQA engineer at the company, publicly stated that management, led by Andriy Matyukha, owed him a substantial amount of money following his dismissal.

According to the developer, many people were laid off and found themselves in a similar situation.

The internal conflict began in early spring when employees’ paychecks were delayed. The author of the post noted that he had remained silent for a long time, hoping management would act in good faith, but the situation was never resolved.

Before being laid off, the team received assurances from management that turned out to be false.

“And this was after the HR department personally assured us at the last meeting that the money would be paid. They gave their word. And then they gave us ‘two weeks to work off our pay.’ And after that—they just took away access to everything. That was already after April 20,” says Vladislav.

After the termination of employment, any attempts to communicate with the company resulted in standard form letters. Company representatives did not specify any concrete dates for payment.

To all questions about his salary, the former employee received a boilerplate response: “We plan to pay, but unfortunately there are no updates yet; we’re waiting for the funds to come in.”

The total amount the company owes the senior engineer is over $8,000. The specialist detailed exactly what this debt, accumulated over several months of work, consists of.

To recoup part of the funds, the employee even had to buy out the company’s equipment.

The detailed breakdown of the debt is as follows:

  • 30% for February — $960;
  • 70% for March — $2,240;
  • 30% for March — $960;
  • 100% for April, including compensation for unused vacation days (deoff) — $4,114.

The employer’s total debt to the developer amounted to $8,274. From this amount, $1,612 was deducted to cover the purchase of work equipment.
