Australia's richest woman has invested $1 billion in SpaceX – WSJ
Australian mining magnate Gina Rinehart, through her private company Hancock Prospecting, acquired a stake in the American aerospace corporation SpaceX worth more than 1 billion U.S. dollars. This major investment took place as part of the historic initial public offering (IPO) of Elon Musk’s company.
The businesswoman officially confirmed the deal, describing SpaceX as a unique business with long-term potential and its founder as an exceptional and technically outstanding individual.
In addition to financial investments, Hancock Prospecting is exploring opportunities for a strategic partnership, particularly regarding the future supply of rare earth minerals and critical raw materials to meet the technological needs of the rocket and satellite manufacturer. Reinhart also highlighted Musk’s patriotism in his efforts to reduce U.S. bureaucracy through the Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE) during Donald Trump’s presidency.
This was reported by the business publication The Wall Street Journal.
