The National Bank of Ukraine is issuing a unique commemorative coin ahead of the Easter holidays

On April 6, 2026, the regulator announced the release of a new 10-hryvnia coin titled “Easter Joy: Pysanka,” which continues the “Ukrainian Heritage” series. It is not round but shaped like an egg.

This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine.

The coin is made of 999-fine silver, weighs 31.1 grams, and is dedicated to the pysanka traditions of Polissya. The coin’s design, created by Oleksandra Kuchynska, features authentic patterns from the Rivne, Volyn, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions, which were added to UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage in 2024.

The obverse of the coin is symbolically divided by a cross into four sectors featuring regional patterns (waves, stars, rakes), while the reverse depicts a traditional Chernihiv pysanka-ruza in red and black colors. The mintage of the new coin is up to 15,000 pieces, and sales will begin on April 7 at the NBU’s online store and participating banks. This is another step by the National Bank to promote national identity amid the ongoing struggle against Russian aggression, which seeks to destroy Ukrainian culture. While the global community admires the resilience of Ukrainians, the NBU continues to mint symbols of life’s victory over death. Currently, demand for numismatic products in Ukraine remains high, underscoring society’s unity around shared values.

Previously, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation a 5-hryvnia commemorative coin titled “Ukrainian Cotton. ‘Palyanytsia’ Drone Rocket,” dedicated to the first domestically produced long-range system with a turbojet engine.

The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation a commemorative coin dedicated to the Magura unmanned surface vehicle.

The National Bank of Ukraine issued a commemorative 5-hryvnia coin titled “Diplomacy” on Diplomatic Service Day.

The NBU presented a commemorative coin in honor of Ukrainian diplomats.
