The tax authorities are imposing massive fines on businesses for shadow schemes and concealing revenue

Since the beginning of the year, the State Tax Service has conducted more than 10,000 audits of businesses, uncovering numerous violations of the law.

This is evidenced by official data from the State Tax Service. Thanks to measures to combat the shadow economy, the budget has received nearly 160 million hryvnias in fines.

The main violations among business entities remain operating without cash registers (RRO/PRRO), the absence of official inventory records, and the employment of unregistered workers. The largest fines were imposed on car dealers in the Kharkiv and Lviv regions, where total fines for undocumented car sales amount to nearly 20 million UAH.

Large-scale abuses were also recorded at gas stations in Zaporizhzhia, which concealed cash proceeds from fuel sales. Tax officials uncovered illegal schemes involving online sales of Apple products in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as the trade in counterfeit alcohol and construction materials. Even the tourism industry in the Kyiv region fell under sanctions, where eco-park services were provided exclusively for unaccounted-for cash.

The tax authority is conductingtechnical work: service disruptions are possible.

A court ordered a company that failed to pay for real estate in central Kyiv to pay4.5 million hryvnias.

The Ministry of Finance also explained why the tax authority needs access to the bank account registry.
