Ukraine Set Records for Egg and Poultry Meat Exports in May
In May 2026, Ukraine exported 229.18 million eggs—the highest monthly figure in the last seven years. Poultry meat exports also reached 43.6 thousand metric tons, setting a record for the last five years.
Egg exports in May exceeded April’s by 11.4% and rose by 20.1% compared to May 2025. In monetary terms, revenue totaled $23.9 million—39.2% more than a year ago.
In the first five months of 2026, Ukraine shipped a total of 1,014.4 million eggs worth $112.5 million. Compared to the same period last year, physical volumes increased by 22%, and revenue by 64%.
The main buyers of Ukrainian eggs in January–May were:
- Spain – 28.1%;
- the United Kingdom – 14.0%;
- Poland – 9.4%;
- Israel – 7.3%.
EU countries account for 75% of egg exports.
Poultry meat shipments in May set a new five-year record at 43,635 metric tons, up 7% from April (40,7 metric tons). Revenue rose by 10.7% to $93.6 million. The average selling price increased to $2.15 per kilogram due to changes in the product mix.
In the first five months of 2026, total poultry meat exports amounted to 207.1 thousand metric tons—6.1% more than during the same period last year. Revenue, however, decreased by 4.3% to $437.1 million.
The main buyers of Ukrainian poultry meat in January–May were:
- the Netherlands – 17.9%;
- the United Kingdom – 11.8%;
- Slovakia – 10.2%;
- UAE – 6.9%.
EU countries accounted for 34.9% of the total volume, or 69.7 thousand metric tons. In monetary terms, the EU’s share accounted for nearly half of the foreign exchange earnings—44.8%. Over the course of five months, Ukraine also exported 7.2 thousand metric tons of processed poultry products worth $24.4 million, according to the Ukrainian Poultry Farmers’ Union.
