Ukraine has enough diesel fuel to last until the end of March; April is uncertain
Ukraine is fully meeting the demand for diesel fuel through the end of March 2026, but the continued stability of supplies depends on price trends and import volumes.
According to Reuters, the market remains stable at present, with daily imports rising by 3% to nearly 17,000 tons. At the same time, analysts describe the situation for April as uncertain due to the risks of further fuel price increases, which could complicate logistics and procurement.
Following massive Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, which virtually destroyed domestic oil refining capacity, Ukraine has become almost entirely dependent on foreign supplies. The bulk of diesel currently comes from countries in Western, Central, and Southern Europe. The government and private operators are attempting to diversify import sources to avoid shortages amid Russia’s ongoing aggression and instability in global energy markets.
As of March 23, 2026, Ukraine has seen another update in fuel prices at the largest gas station chains.
Additionally, the “Cashback on Fuel” program launched in Ukraine on March 20.
