Ukraine's HIMERA and Finland's Bittium will develop secure communications technologies
HIMERA, a Ukrainian manufacturer of secure communications equipment, and Bittium, a Finnish defense technology company, have agreed to collaborate with the aim of strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine and Finland.
The partners plan to combine their tactical communications technologies and the experience gained during recent military operations. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation on June 25 during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.
The goal of this collaboration is to integrate the Ukrainian developer’s combat-proven solutions with the portfolio of certified products from the Finnish manufacturer, which has been working with the Finnish Defense Forces for over two decades. The joint efforts are intended to provide scalable secure communications capabilities at all levels of command and to evolve in line with NATO’s requirements. The project is funded by the companies’ own resources, including Bittium, whose operating profit for 2025 amounted to 19.4 million euros.
