Industrial goods have become cheaper in Ukraine

Industrial goods have become cheaper in Ukraine

In April 2026, Ukraine saw a 1.2% decline in industrial producer prices compared to the previous month (March).

According to official data from the State Statistics Service, the main factor behind this downward trend was a significant reduction in the cost of energy resources and utility services for businesses.

The reduction in tariffs and costs for the supply of electricity, natural gas, steam, and air conditioning had a decisive impact on the overall industrial deflation rate. Prices for products in this sector fell by as much as 5.7% over the month, which partially offset the previous spring increase in production costs for Ukrainian enterprises.

Despite the April slowdown on a monthly basis, the overall tax and cost burden on the industrial sector remains significant. On an annual basis (compared to April 2025), the overall industrial producer price index showed high growth rates, reaching 40.2%. This acceleration in annual industrial inflation is linked to administrative decisions made in previous months, particularly the February revision of energy tariffs for businesses.
