This summer, the prices of meat and dairy products will rise in Ukraine, and by the end of the year, bread prices will also rise
This summer, prices for dairy and meat products in Ukraine are expected to rise by between 8% and 20%. Denis Marchuk, deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, announced this during a speech at the Media Center Ukraine. The expert identified labor costs, the hryvnia’s exchange rate against foreign currencies, and the overall inflation rate as the key factors directly influencing the final price of goods.
In addition to meat and dairy products, bread will also follow this upward price trend. According to the expert’s estimates, its price could rise by another 12–15% by the end of this year, bringing the total annual increase to over 25%.
As for fruits and vegetables, during the peak harvest season for open-field crops—from July through September—there will be a traditional seasonal drop in prices due to abundant market supply. However, as early as this fall, as produce is stored for long-term preservation and companies factor in associated costs, vegetable prices will rise again by 8–15%.
