Historic Georgetown townhouse once owned by the Kennedys listed for sale.

The historic Georgetown townhouse where John and Jackie Kennedy lived during JFK’s 1960 presidential campaign is now on the market for $7.5 million — more than double its last sale price in 2004. It was from this very home that John F. Kennedy left for his 1961 inauguration.

The 5,245-square-foot residence was home to the Kennedys from 1957 until their move to the White House. Two of their children, Caroline and John Jr., were born while the family lived there. Jackie Kennedy personally redecorated the home multiple times, turning it into a venue for political gatherings and social teas that advanced her husband’s career.

Listed by TTR Sotheby’s, the property features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a library, a double parlor, and a private garden. After the Kennedys moved out, the home changed owners several times, but it remains a cherished piece of American presidential history.
