Aman to open its first Maldives resort in 2028 — Channel NewsAsia
Hotel brand Aman plans to open its first resort in the Maldives, Amanolu, in 2028. The complex in Vaavu Atoll will have 52 keys and 16 private residences, Channel NewsAsia reports.
Resort in Vaavu Atoll
Amanolu will be located in Vaavu Atoll, which the publication describes as one of the most remote and least disturbed regions of the Maldives. The project’s name combines Aman — a Sanskrit word meaning “peace” — and Olu, a reference to the water lily common in the Indian Ocean region.
The complex will be designed by architecture firm Kerry Hill Architects, which has previously collaborated with Aman. The design is intended to be inspired by white coral beaches, turquoise lagoons and the islands’ natural landscape. Indoor and outdoor spaces are planned to be combined so that nature becomes part of guests’ stay.

Residences and infrastructure
All 16 private island residences will have five bedrooms each. Each will include access to private beaches, a 25-metre pool and its own mooring.
The complex will be divided into separate spaces for wellness, recreation and marine exploration. The wellness island will feature an Aman Spa and signature Spa Houses, while the activity island will offer guests diving, snorkelling, water sports and marine excursions. Dining venues, family areas and meeting spaces are also planned.
After opening, Amanolu will join Aman’s portfolio, which includes 36 hotels, resorts and branded residences across 21 destinations.
