Seoul ranks 4th among Asian destinations for repeat trips — Korea Herald
Seoul, South Korea, ranked fourth among Asian tourist destinations that travelers return to most often. The ranking was compiled by the travel platform Agoda based on accommodation booking data for the first half of the year, Korea Herald reports.
Tokyo tops the ranking
Tokyo took first place, overtaking Bangkok, as Thailand’s capital had led the ranking last year. Bangkok came second, while Bali in Indonesia rose by one position to take third place. After Seoul, the top 10 included Osaka in Japan, Da Nang in Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Japan’s Fukuoka, Taipei in Taiwan and Johor Bahru in Malaysia.

What attracts tourists
According to the publication, repeat trips to Seoul are encouraged by a wide range of tourism offerings: Korean cultural content, festivals, gastronomy, the beauty industry, wellness services and shopping. Convenient public transportation, public safety and 24-hour stores were also cited among the factors contributing to foreign visitors’ satisfaction.
Korea Herald notes that South Korea is recording growth in the number of foreign visitors amid increasing interest in Korean culture.
