Government reshuffle: Which officials will lose their jobs under the new prime minister?
Following the change in Ukraine’s prime minister, there may be large-scale personnel changes in the Cabinet of Ministers. According to a source, four current ministers may not be included in the new government, which will likely be headed by Serhiy Koretskyi, the chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
According to a source who spoke with journalists, the following are most likely to lose their positions:
- Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science;
- Minister of Veterans Affairs Natalia Kalmykova;
- Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery—Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba;
- Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka.
As a reminder, on July 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced changes in the government, and Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed that she would step down as prime minister. According to media reports, Serhiy Koretskyi is the leading contender for the position of the new head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Also, according to journalists, Svyrydenko has been offered the position of Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., but she has not yet made a final decision on the matter.
