Zelenskyy offered Fedorov the position of deputy prime minister for military innovation
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has offered former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Military Innovation.
The head of state made this announcement at a press conference with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, according to Ukrainska Pravda, citing Suspilne News.
Zelenskyy stated that Fedorov is “on the team” and that he had offered him several positions. The latest offer was the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Military Innovation. The president explained the importance of this role by citing the need to coordinate innovations with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the commander-in-chief of the army, and the president.
Earlier, “Ukrainska Pravda” reported that Zelenskyy had offered Fedorov various positions in the government, including the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Technological Development. According to the publication, Fedorov opposed this option because he did not understand the reasons for his dismissal from the Ministry of Defense and believed that without the authority held exclusively by the Ministry of Defense, it would be impossible to implement his strategy to stop Russia.
