The court has finally lifted the freeze on AIBOX BANK's assets: the liquidation process will be completed

The Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv has lifted all asset freezes on the property of PJSC “AIBOX BANK.” This decision will allow the liquidator to fully dispose of the assets, settle all accounts, and officially dissolve the legal entity. The court had already closed the criminal proceedings against the former shareholders (regarding an illegal casino and money laundering) back in July 2025, and the appellate court upheld this decision in the fall. The need for restrictions has completely disappeared.

This was reported on the OnlyBank Telegram channel.

The 2023 seizures of key contracts, financial documentation, and physical media that facilitated work with counterparties (in particular, Paybox LLC and iBox LLC) have been lifted. The court ruling has already taken effect, is final, and cannot be appealed. The liquidation process, which has been ongoing since March 2023, is entering its final stages.

The “takeover” of the institution may have been orchestrated by the controversial former Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi, who is currently under investigation by NABU for illicit enrichment.

According to investigative materials and the “Mindich tapes,” the goal of the attack was not to restore order, but to eliminate competitors in the interests of the president’s business partner, Timur Mindich. Journalist Serhiy Lyamets stated bluntly in his post:

“All that commotion in 2023 took place almost exclusively with the aim of redistributing the gambling market’s revenue streams. Amid the war, this market has become one of the ‘most lucrative’ business sectors in Ukraine. It is no surprise that top officials from the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office were involved in the struggle for its revenue streams.”

After the destruction of the private “Ibox” and “Concord,” the nationalized “Sens Bank” monopolized about 85% of the total gambling business’s turnover.

“In this situation, the position of NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy raises more and more questions. It is common knowledge that the head of the National Bank is physically deaf—a trait that has never hindered his career. However, one now gets the impression that, along with this, the Regulator has also developed a selective professional “blindness.” Certainly not altruistic,” the Telegram channel’s post states.

Private banks had their licenses revoked in a flash for far lesser violations. Meanwhile, the shady dealings of the state-owned “Sens Bank” have been ignored by the regulator for months. It is suspected that the NBU makes decisions only when it benefits specific beneficiaries, turning the state bank into a “black hole” that destroys the investment climate.

Let’s recall the timeline of scandals involving former Deputy Prosecutor General from Odesa, Dmytro Verbytskyi.

Artem Shilo is implicated in a case involving a 15 million hryvnia procurement scheme at Ukrzaliznytsia.

The Civil Cassation Court of the Supreme Court upheld the decisions of lower courts to recover over 1.2 billion hryvnias from Oleg Bakhmatyuk, the former owner of PJSC “VAB Bank,” in favor of the National Bank of Ukraine.
