Afolayan scores a brace in Blackburn Rovers' win over Millwall
Blackburn Rovers defeated Millwall 3-1 in a Championship match at Ewood Park. Oladapo Afolayan scored a brace, while Andri Gudjohnsen found the net in stoppage time. According to Sky Sports News, Tony Mowbray's team ended a four-match winless run.
Afolayan's brace
Even before the opening whistle, chants of "Venky's out" could be heard in the stands. In the 41st minute, Afolayan opened the scoring: after Sam Morsy was given space in the penalty area to shoot, he deftly directed the ball into the net from close range with a touch. It was Afolayan's first league goal for the club.
Millwall equalised in the 51st minute. Substitute Gadi Beyuku brought down Tyrique Arconte in the penalty area. Lyndon Dykes converted the penalty with a shot down the middle of the goal, scoring his third goal of the season.

A stoppage-time goal
In the 58th minute, Afolayan put Blackburn ahead again. He began his run from the centre circle, avoided one tackle and struck with his left foot into the bottom corner from 18 yards.
Millwall had chances to level the score. Arconte fired wide after a low cross from Zak Sturge, while Dykes missed with a header after a cross from Mark Sykes. In the 73rd minute, Hayden Carter blocked Arconte's shot, sending the ball over the crossbar.
Gudjohnsen made the score final in the third minute of stoppage time. He started the counterattack and passed the ball to Jayden Fevrier, who laid it back to the Icelandic forward. Gudjohnsen found the bottom corner and scored his third goal of the season. Millwall suffered their third league defeat in the last four matches.
