Arteta close to new contract with London’s Arsenal
London’s Arsenal in the United Kingdom is finalizing an agreement on a new long-term contract with head coach Mikel Arteta. The Spanish specialist’s current deal with the club will remain in force for another nine months, and the participants in the negotiations are confident that he will continue the cooperation, MyJoyOnline reports.

According to the publication, the negotiations have recently moved forward. Last month, Arteta said that he wants to remain at the club and is happy working at Arsenal. The club’s executive director, Richard Garlick, also said that confirmation of a new long-term agreement with the coach is only a matter of time.
MyJoyOnline notes that after signing a new contract, Arteta could become one of the highest-paid coaches in world football. Arsenal plans to significantly improve the terms of his current deal, which provides for £10 million per season and another £5 million if the team qualifies for the Champions League.
