English football club Aston Villa have announced the permanent signing of Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea. This was reported by Channel NewsAsia, citing Reuters. The club hopes to strengthen its attacking line following the departure of several players.

According to British media, Aston Villa paid Chelsea an initial £47.5 million for the 25-year-old Jackson. A further £17.5 million could be paid in bonuses. The club said that the 37-cap Senegal international, who played at the 2026 World Cup, joined the team on a permanent basis.

Experience working with Emery

Jackson previously worked with Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery at Villarreal. In the 2022–23 La Liga season, he scored 12 goals in 26 league matches.

Last season, Aston Villa finished in the Premier League's top four and won the Europa League, claiming their first trophy in 30 years. During this transfer window, defender Ezri Konsa moved to Arsenal, while midfielder Youri Tielemans joined Manchester United.
