Scott Pendlebury to join Gold Coast Suns in 2027
Australian Football League record-holder for most matches, Scott Pendlebury, will move from the Collingwood Magpies to the Gold Coast Suns in 2027 as an unrestricted free agent. As ABC News Australia reports, the athlete's manager Anthony Panozzo confirmed the upcoming move.
Multi-year deal
According to ABC News Australia, Pendlebury, 38, is set to sign a multi-year deal with the Gold Coast Suns. He is expected to combine playing on the field with coaching work for two seasons, before becoming an assistant coach for another two years.
The deal can officially be announced after the AFL free agency period begins on October 2. Collingwood did not offer Pendlebury a new contract to continue his playing career at the club.

Career at Collingwood
Pendlebury played 442 matches for the Magpies. He will leave the club with two premiership titles, a Norm Smith Medal and six selections in the All-Australian team.
The footballer was unable to play a farewell match for Collingwood in the finals series. He strained his hamstring in the final match of the regular season and therefore missed the wild card match, in which the Magpies lost to the Western Bulldogs.
