Australia beat South Africa in third ODI via DLS method — TimesLIVE
Australia's cricket team defeated South Africa by 47 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in the third and final ODI in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The match was ended early due to rain: at the time of the stoppage, the hosts were 145/4 after 28 overs, while Australia had earlier scored 322/9.
As TimesLIVE reports, Australia secured a strong start thanks to opening pair Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head, who scored 78 runs off 53 balls. Marsh recorded at least a half-century for the third consecutive time.
Australia's middle-order contribution
Ollie Peake, who played in the series for the first time, scored 48 runs and put on a 73-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Alex Carey. Carey was Australia's top scorer with 74 runs and later added another 66 runs with Matt Renshaw.
Corbin Bosch was South Africa's best bowler with figures of 4/60. One of his wickets was made possible by a leap in the field from Bjorn Fortuin, who caught the ball after Peake's shot. Fortuin finished with figures of 1/50, while Aiden Markram had an economy rate of 5.25 runs per over across eight overs.

Preparation for the Test series
South Africa made five changes to the side that won at the Wanderers. Temba Bavuma, David Miller, the Jansen brothers and Keshav Maharaj were left out of the starting XI. Australia, in turn, brought Pat Cummins back into the side, and he bowled five overs.
Xavier Bartlett dismissed Markram lbw, while leg-spinner Adam Zampa dismissed Matthew Breetzke following work behind the wicket by Carey. Ryan Rickelton remained not out on 71 runs but was unable to significantly accelerate the scoring rate against Cummins' second spell.
Tony de Zorzi left the field during Australia's innings due to a left hamstring injury and did not play any further part in the match. His participation in the first Test, which is due to begin next Friday in Durban, remains in doubt.
