Australian golfer Jessica Beng died in Thailand at the age of 18 following a brain hemorrhage. Her family and tour officials announced the death of the promising athlete.
Beng was in Bangkok, where she was scheduled to compete in the International Qualifying Tournament for the Korean Women’s Professional Tour. On August 1, she collapsed and was taken to a hospital in Bangkok, where she underwent emergency brain surgery. She did not recover and died on Thursday.
This year, Beng earned her first professional victory in only her fifth start. She turned pro at the end of 2025 after a successful amateur career.

The WPGA Tour of Australasia called Beng an outstanding young and talented golfer. The organization stated that the tour and the broader Australian golf community are deeply saddened by her death and expressed their condolences to her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
Beng’s family announced on their GoFundMe page that the funds raised following her hospitalization will be given to her parents to help cover medical expenses.
