Estonian track and field athletes concluded the World Under-20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, with three silver medals. On the final day of competition, discus thrower Sten-Erik Iir and pole vaulter Henry Apri won silver medals, according to ERR News.

In the discus throw final, 18-year-old Iir broke his personal best twice. His throw of 65.42 meters earned him the silver medal. After his performance, the athlete said he had expected a high level of competition and believes that the rivalry helped him achieve a strong result.

Apri cleared 5.75 meters in the pole vault final. This result set a new Estonian record for athletes under 20 and under 23. It surpassed the previous national record—which Apri set at the Estonian Championships in late July—by 9 centimeters.
