FIBA has banned two Ukrainian basketball players for life for match-fixing
The Disciplinary Commission of the International Basketball Federation has found Ukrainian players guilty of match-fixing, betting on competitions, and concealing acts of corruption.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Basketball Federation.
The investigation confirmed the athletes’ involvement in match-fixing while playing for the Asian clubs Naic Aces (Philippines) and Adroit (Singapore) during the 2024 and 2024–2025 seasons, specifically within the East Asia Champions League. The severe punishment completely bans Kolchenko and Pryimak from playing or performing any other official functions at tournaments under the auspices of FIBA, with the sanctions officially extending to domestic Ukrainian competitions, including the amateur level.
