Hamilton urges Ferrari to introduce written rules after clash with Leclerc
British Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton called on the team to introduce written rules for interaction between drivers after a collision with teammate Charles Leclerc at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters.
Incident at the start of the race
Leclerc and Hamilton started from the second row. During the battle on the first lap, Hamilton went into the gravel and dropped from fourth to 10th position. On the second lap, Leclerc crashed and retired from the race.
Hamilton finished sixth. After Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli's victory, the Briton is 76 points behind the championship leader. Ferrari is second in the teams' standings behind Mercedes.

The drivers' positions
Leclerc told journalists that the teammates fought too hard at the start. Hamilton disagreed with that assessment: according to him, he was ahead on entry to the second corner and at the apex, while Leclerc forced him off the track.
The seven-time world champion noted that Mercedes had written rules for interaction between teammates, which mostly helped avoid such situations. He believes Ferrari should also change its approach. Former world champion Nico Rosberg, now a Sky Sports expert, supported Hamilton and placed responsibility for the incident on Leclerc.
