Ghana's Nations FC exit CAF Confederation Cup after draw with FC Diarra
In Ghana, Nations FC ended their 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup campaign after a 1:1 draw with Mali's FC Diarra in Accra. The second leg of the preliminary round was played at Accra Sports Stadium, and FC Diarra advanced 2:1 on aggregate.
They needed to come from behind
Nations FC entered the home match after a 0:1 defeat in the first game. The MTN FA Cup winners controlled possession for long periods and tried to score the goals needed to reach the next round.
As MyJoyOnline reports, the hosts created several chances but failed to convert them. FC Diarra opened the scoring first, making the task even more difficult for the Ghanaian team.

Debut ended in the preliminary round
Nations FC later equalized and continued searching for the decisive goal, but were unable to break through the opponents' defence for a second time. The 1:1 draw allowed the Malian club to retain the advantage gained in the first match.
This was Nations FC's debut CAF Confederation Cup campaign. The team ended its participation in the tournament at the preliminary round stage.
