LIV Golf players plan to compete in tournaments on other tours amid the uncertainty
LIV Golf players are negotiating to participate in tournaments on other tours amid uncertainty about the league’s future. According to The Japan Times, citing Reuters, the 2026 LIV Golf season will conclude on Sunday with a team championship in Indianapolis.
The event in the Detroit suburbs, scheduled for August 27–30, has been canceled, and the tournament in Indianapolis has been designated as the season finale. According to the publication, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund is withdrawing its financial support for LIV Golf after this season.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neill is scheduled to hold a press conference on Wednesday titled “League Update.” According to reports, the league must secure funding by September 1 to continue operations into 2027.

Bryson DeChambeau announced that he will compete in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, which will take place December 3–6 at the Gary Player Country Club. The tournament is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour. In March, DeChambeau won the LIV Golf event in Johannesburg, defeating John Rahm in a playoff.
LIV Golf players Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McCibbin, and Adrian Meronk have also confirmed their participation in the Husqvarna British Masters, hosted by Nick Faldo. The tournament will be held on the dates originally scheduled for the canceled LIV Golf event in Michigan and will run concurrently with the Tour Championship—the FedExCup Playoffs finale.
John Rahm, who has been linked to reports of a possible departure from LIV Golf and a return to the PGA Tour, reached an agreement with the DP World Tour earlier this year to settle outstanding fines. Under the terms of the agreement, he agreed to compete in several tournaments after the conclusion of the LIV Golf season.
