Rodri transferred from Manchester City to Barcelona
Spanish midfielder Rodri has transferred from England’s Manchester City to Barcelona. The Catalan club announced that the 30-year-old player has signed a contract through 2030, according to the Korea Herald, citing AFP.
According to the publication, the clubs agreed to the transfer on Sunday after two unsuccessful offers from Barcelona. A source at Manchester City told AFP that the deal, including bonuses, could reach $88.6 million. The next day, Rodri arrived in the Catalan capital to finalize personal terms with his new club.
During his presentation on Tuesday, the player said he was excited about this new stage in his career and viewed the move as a new challenge. He also stated his intention to compete with Barcelona for every possible trophy, including the Champions League.

Rodri spent seven years at Manchester City. During that time, he helped the team win the 2023 Champions League, four English Premier League titles, and a total of 12 major trophies. Previously, the midfielder played for Atlético and Villarreal.
At Barcelona, Rodri will play under the guidance of Hansi Flick. The player noted that the German coach’s style differs from his previous experience and could help him develop as a player.
