Italy’s Bologna dismiss Tedesco and appoint Palladino until 2029
Italian football club Bologna has dismissed head coach Domenico Tedesco after four Serie A matches and appointed Raffaele Palladino as his replacement. The new coach signed a contract until the end of June 2029.
One point in four rounds
Sunday’s defeat to Napoli left Bologna in 16th place in the Serie A standings. The team earned only one point in the opening four matches of the Italian championship. Tedesco took charge of the club only in June.
In a brief statement, the club thanked Tedesco for his “professionalism and competence,” Asharq Al-Awsat reports, citing the Associated Press.

Debut against Torino
The 42-year-old Palladino previously managed Monza, Fiorentina and Atalanta. His first match in charge of Bologna will be a home game against Torino on Saturday, before the lengthy international break.
This is not the first coaching change at the start of the new Serie A season: earlier this month, Fiorentina dismissed Fabio Grosso and returned Paolo Vanoli to the post.
