Lando Norris takes Spanish Grand Prix pole in Madrid
Channel NewsAsia, citing Reuters, reports that reigning Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris of McLaren took pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, Spain. Qualifying took place on September 12 at Madring, the new Formula 1 circuit in the Spanish capital.
Norris will start first
Norris set the fastest time in qualifying, earning the right to start from first position. The British driver is the reigning Formula 1 world champion.

Front row of the starting grid
Alongside Norris on the front row will start 20-year-old Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. The report calls him the championship leader.
Qualifying results
Max Verstappen of Red Bull set the third-fastest time, while Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton was fourth. The top four positions in the qualifying classification were taken by representatives of McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari, respectively.
