Max Verstappen retires on first lap of Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen retired from his home Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix at the end of the first lap. The race in Zandvoort was stopped. According to Channel NewsAsia, citing Reuters, the four-time world champion told his team over the radio that he was okay.
Car hit a concrete barrier
Verstappen's car hit a concrete barrier on the outside of a banked corner before sliding across the track. One wheel detached from the car during the crash, and debris remained on the track. The driver got out of the car on his own.

Started from seventh position
Verstappen started the race from seventh position. The Dutchman has won the Dutch Grand Prix three times. The Zandvoort circuit is set to leave the Formula 1 calendar after this year's race.
