The first champions have been crowned at Roland Garros 2026

In 2026, the French Open hosted its first mixed doubles final. The Italians Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori triumphed in this category, becoming the winners of the mixed doubles tournament at Roland Garros.

The Final

In the final match on the clay courts of Paris, the Italians secured a hard-fought victory over the duo of Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Evan King of the United States.

The match, which lasted 1 hour and 22 minutes, began with the Canadian-American pair taking the lead, winning the first set 6-4. However, the defending champions Errani and Vavassori managed to seize the initiative, winning the second set 6-3, and subsequently demonstrated complete dominance in the decisive championship tiebreak, sealing the victory 10-4.

A Historic Achievement

Thanks to this success, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavasori defended their title and became the first mixed doubles pair in recent years to win Roland Garros two years in a row (before them, Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan achieved the same feat in the 2018-2019 seasons). Overall, this marks the Italian duo’s fourth joint Grand Slam victory in the last seven majors. In addition to their two trophies in France, they have two consecutive US Open titles to their credit from 2024 and 2025.

Interestingly, for American Evan King, this marks his second consecutive loss in the final on the Paris courts against these same opponents: last season, he also competed for the Roland Garros title in mixed doubles, but at that time his partner was fellow American Taylor Townsend.

This was reported by TNT Sports.

Marta Kostyuk will face Mirra Andreeva in the semifinals of the 2026 French Open.

On Thursday, June 4, Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk, who defeated Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals, will play in the semifinals of the 2026 French Open. The Ukrainian’s opponent will be Russian Mira Andreeva. The match will determine one of the finalists of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament in Paris.

Svitolina also confidently defeated an American player and advanced to the round of 16 at Indian Wells.

Sobolenko lost in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros.
