Internal disputes have erupted within the French national soccer team’s camp ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The players have expressed dissatisfaction with the French Football Federation’s decisions regarding the allocation of World Cup match tickets and the amount of bonus payments.
According to French media reports, each national team player was allocated only eight tickets for tournament matches—two free and six that can be purchased additionally.
The players believe that this number is insufficient for their relatives and loved ones who plan to support the team at the World Cup in the United States. This issue was one of the causes of tension within the team.
Another topic of discussion was the bonus payments for participating in the 2026 World Cup. Due to significant expenses for logistics and organizing the team’s stay in the United States, the federation’s leadership asked the players to agree to a reduction in bonuses.
However, the players did not hide their dissatisfaction with this proposal and raised the issue during a meeting with the federation’s leadership.
The players personally voiced their concerns to Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, during a joint lunch at the training camp in Clairefontaine. French President Emmanuel Macron was also present at the meeting.
Despite the complexity of the situation, the negotiations took place in a constructive atmosphere. As a gesture of goodwill, the players agreed to participate in the federation’s advertising campaigns.
Currently, the parties are continuing to discuss bonus payments. It is expected that the players will ultimately receive the payments in the desired amount. At the same time, the issue of increasing the number of tickets for family members and loved ones remains unresolved.
Thus, on the eve of the 2026 World Cup, the French national team is trying to resolve internal disagreements so it can fully focus on competing for the world’s top soccer trophy.
