Newcastle sign Guinea midfielder Ousmane Diabate — Anadolu Agency
English club Newcastle United have signed 18-year-old Guinea midfielder Ousmane Diabate from Turkey's Gençlerbirliği. At the same time, the player will remain on loan at the Ankara club until the end of the season.
Agreement with the English club
Gençlerbirliği announced the transfer. In a club statement, it said that an agreement had been reached with an English Premier League team over the transfer of one of its first-team players. Anadolu Agency reports.
The Turkish club thanked Diabate for his commitment and contribution to the team and wished him success in his future career. According to British media, the value of the deal, including possible bonuses, could reach £3 million, or about $4 million.

Diabate's performances
This season, the defensive midfielder has made three appearances for Gençlerbirliği and provided one assist. In December 2025, he joined Gençlerbirliği's U-19 team from Guinean club Academie SOAR, and in February 2026, he was promoted to the first team.
Diabate established himself in the Turkish club's first team and has already made his senior debut for the Guinea national team.
