A Ukrainian MMA fighter who was supposed to be deported from Finland has gone missing

Ukrainian MMA fighter Volodymyr Golubev is being sought in Finland after he went missing following difficult personal circumstances. The athlete’s acquaintances currently do not know his whereabouts.

The fighter was scheduled to be deported from Finland in the near future. However, Vladimir Golubev’s whereabouts remain unknown at this time.

What is known about Golubev’s fate

The athlete from Ukraine has lived in Finland for 11 years. During that time, he was convicted multiple times for various offenses. That is why, in April, Finnish authorities decided to deport him. In particular, the fighter, who goes by the nickname “Vovan Sambo,” was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for a serious drug-related crime.

His friend, Ramin Amirkhani, reported the Ukrainian’s disappearance. He noted that he last saw the missing man on September 23. On the same day, the Ukrainian was admitted to the hospital.

In a conversation with Finnish journalists, Golubev’s attorney, Brit Sofia Udham, did not disclose his exact whereabouts, the reasons for his September hospitalization, or whether he is currently in Finland.

What Is Known About Golubev’s Career

The athlete has made a name for himself in several combat sports. He is known to have been the Finnish Muay Thai champion. The statistics portal Sherdog notes that in MMA, Golubev has two wins in three professional bouts.

His last fight took place in March in Helsinki, where he defeated Finnish fighter Romeo Tanvira with a submission hold.
