Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated Germany's Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing, China. The match ended 4:6, 6:4, 6:4 in favor of Djokovic, who secured a place in the competition's semifinals.
As Interia Sport reports, Zverev broke serve at the very start of the first set and took a 2:0 lead. Djokovic had two break points at 5:5, but his opponent held serve and won the set 6:4.
Comeback after the first set
In the second set, both tennis players confidently held their own serves until the ninth game. At 5:4 in Zverev's favor, Djokovic saved a break point, and in the following game he created two set points while returning. The German tennis player saved the first one, but Djokovic leveled the score in sets on the second.

At the start of the deciding set, Zverev had a break point at 2:1, but Djokovic held his serve. The opponents then controlled their service games until the tenth game. Zverev had a chance to level the score at 5:5, but Djokovic converted his second match point and finished the match with a victory.
Semifinal pairings
Djokovic, who had won the Beijing tournament six times before the start of the current edition, continued his run in the Chinese capital after victories over Nuno Borges and Bu Yunchaokete. He will face Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals.
In the other match for a place in the final, Alex de Minaur and Hubert Hurkacz will meet. The Polish tennis player was previously the first among the quarterfinal participants to secure a place in the tournament's final four.
